Thoughts

The crowd was very energetic today, so I had to cut out some of the longer songs. In the future, I will need some good songs to get the wiggles out!

Colorful Cats

Colorful Cats

20170320_142820

When the cat that is red is finally fed,
He raises his head and says “me-ow”.

When the cat that is blue has nothing to do,
He comes up, too, and whispers “me-ow”.

When the cat that is yellow is felling mellow,
He tends to stretch, and bellow “me-ow”.

When the cat that is brown starts stalking the town,
You’ll hear his sound when he cries “me-ow”.

When the cat that is green is finally seen,
You’ll know what I mean when I say he can really “me-ow”.

When the cat that is black arches his back,
He has an uncanny knack of screeching “me-ow”.

When the cat that is white comes into your sight,
You very well might hear his famous “me-ow”.

Okay, little cats, let’s hear some “me-ows”,
And now it’s time for curtsies and bows.

Thoughts

Because it’s the day before Thanksgiving, I had a very, very, VERY small crowd. Nine people total! I had to completely change the way I do story time. I ended up sitting on the ground with everyone, and was able to let children play with the felts and help me put them up and take them down.

Five Owls

Five Owls

20170320_135135

There are two rhymes that can be used with these flannels:

Five Hoot Owls
Five hoot owls sitting in a tree,
One flew away! How many do you see?
Four!
….
One hoot owl sitting in a tree,
He flew away! How many do you see?
None!

Five Fluffy Owls
Five fluffy owls, a branch as their floor.
One flew into the dark, and then there were four.

Four fluffy owls sitting in a tree.
One flew towards the moon, and then there were three.

Three fluffy owls wondering what to do,
One said “good-bye”, and then there were two.

Two fluffy owls looking for some fun.
One found a mouse to catch, and then there was one.

One fluffy owl, eyes big and round,
She soared into the sky with stars all around.

Thoughts

I forgot to bring out the shaker eggs for story time today! Thankfully, I was able to run to our storage room and grab them quickly. I learned a valuable lesson…always double check your supplies to make sure you have everything!
