Five Little Snowmen

Five Little Snowmen

20170320_143106.jpg

Five little snowmen standing in a row.
Each with a hat,  (pat top of head)
And a big red bow.  (pull at neck, like fixing a bow)
Out came the sun,  (arms form big circle over head)
And it stayed all day.  (lean to the left)
And one little snowman melted away.

One little snowman, standing all alone.
Wearing a hat and a big red bow.
Out came the sun and shone all day.
One little snowman melted away.

Thoughts

I used pass out books in this story time, and the choral reading was great! All the kids were really happy to have their own little book to read.

Thoughts

The books I chose were definitely too long for this age group. They are great books though, so if you have an older crowd, those would be good choices!

iSpy Tank: Beach Theme

Growing up, I absolutely loved the iSpy series by Jean Marzollo and Walter Wick. So, when I saw a post about an iSpy passive program at the library, I needed to do it!

This iSpy Tank is beach themed, so I used some sand that my library already had (we use it for sensory story times) and bought a few trinkets from JoAnns. I was so happy with the finished product, and a lot of children and their parents stopped to enjoy it.

This is the iSpy tank itself, with the sign I made, and the iSpy sheet.

There’s Something in the Snow

There’s Something in the Snow

There’s something in the snow, now what can it be?
There’s something in the snow, that I can’t really see.
Hear it’s funny sound…caw! caw! caw!
A cardinal is what I found!

…grr! grr! grr! A bear is what I found!
…waddle! waddle! waddle! A penguin is what I found!
…howl! howl! howl! A wolf is what I found!

Thoughts

I had the month of December off from story times, so I was a little rusty…but overall today went great! It seemed like everyone loved the books, which was awesome!
